This highly reusable and compatible OPA disinfectant has the fastest disinfection time (5 minutes) at room temperature.
It can be used manually or in an automated endoscope reprocessor (AER).

Intended use:
Chemical sterilization and disinfection of medical tools:
- Tools polluted by microbes and organic matters or directly using for hypodermic tissues and mucous membranes.
- Tools expected to be polluted by B Type Hepatitis virus
Use for:
Surgical operation tools: Endoscopes, lens built-in tools, anesthesia tools, artificial respiration tools mess, and catheter
TOOIS used in obstetrics and urology.
Dental tools or its auxiliary tools.
Syringes, thermometers and rubber, plastic tools that are unable to be sterilized thermally.
Use life: Up to 14days.
Shelf life: 24 months.

OPIDEX OPA Solution is a high-level disinfectant with excellent efficacy, safety and convenience. It is designed for reprocessing heat sensitive semi critical medical devices that are unsuitable for sterilization.
OPA test strips are chemical indicators to determine whether the concentration of ortho-phthalaldehyde, is above or below the established minimum effective concentration (MEC) of 0.3%.
It is recommended that the disinfectant be tested before each disinfection cycle to ensure that the ortho-phthalaldehyde is above the MEC. This below direction and result are of Serim Disintek OPA test strip basis
- Step 1. Completely submerge the test strip into the OPA solution for 20 seconds. After removing the strip from the solution, remove the excess solution onto the paper tower Do not shake the strip.
- Step 2. After complete removal of the solution, check the strip for 40 seconds (maximum 60 Seconds). Compare the color of the strip with the indicator pad.
- Step 3. Test result
Pass: Green (0.3% ~ 0.55%) / Fail: Blue (Below 0.3%)
Direction for Use:
Step 1. Preparation (Wear Individual protection equipment.)
Prevent infection with individual protection wear (gloves, apron, and glosses) before cleaning endoscope.
Step 2. Pre-cleaning:
After removing the endoscope from the patient, remove the visible matters by using a wet gauze with on enzymatic detergent.
* Warning: Must thoroughly clean the endoscope with enzymatic detergent before blood, lubricants and other bodily fluids harden.
Step 3. Cleaning with enzymatic detergent
- After endoscopy, clean the surface of endoscope and inner part by using enzymatic detergent. Please refer to the IFU of the manufacturer and follow the instructions of use.
- Because over 99.9% of organic matters are removed in this process, this Cleaning is crucial.
- Thoroughly remove the remaining detergent with clean water.
Step 4. Rinsing
- Wash the outside, detached parts and all channels of the endoscope with running water to remove the remaining detergent.
- Clean all channels with pressurized air and wipe the surface of the endoscope (buttons included) to prevent any dilution of disinfectant.
Step 5. Use high level disinfection
Manual
- Completely submerge the medical device in OPIDEX OPA solution. Allow sufficient contact with the solution for devices with micro-holes.
- Set the sterilization time at 5 minutes for normal devices.
- OPIDEX OPA Solution has 75-day shelf life after opening the bottle. After its first usage, it has 14-day reuse cycle, with total 82 cycles possible.
Automated Endoscope Reprocessor (AER)
- Completely submerge the medical device in OPIDEX OPA solution. Allow sufficient contact with the solution with devices with micro-hoIes.
- Set the sterilization time at 5 minutes for normal devices.
- OPIOEX OPA Solution hos 75-day shelf life after opening the bottle. After using it in AER, it has 14-day reuse cycle. with total 82 cycles possible.
Step 6. Rinsing
Manual
To completely remove all remnant of the disinfectant, wash all the surfaces, channels and detachable parts of the endoscope with sterile water.
Rinse minimum 3 times for at least one minute. Use approximately 8L Df water during the process.
Automated Endoscope Reprocessor (AER)
After sterilization, set the rinsing time to at least 90 seconds to rinse it fully.
Step 7. Drying and storage
- For faster drying, wipe with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol (70-80%) and blow pressurized air through all channels.
- Dry the remaining water with clean cloth and pressurized air.
- Store the endoscope upright.
Warning: because remaining water tends to proliferate virus, always finish cleaning with alcohol. humidity is the main cause of minor malfunction.
